It's all about the car

The car is a manual Renault Megane 1.5 diesel that has very low emissions.

The diesel engine is powerful enough to make it easy to pull away without stalling, but not too powerful for a learner driver.

I choose the Megane rather than the Clio as I think that it is a much nicer car. It is only slightly wider at 1.6cm, or 7 cm with the mirrors out, but it does feel bigger, while it is still small enough to fit on the narrow streets of Plymouth. Inside feels very roomy with comfortable seats and a good range of technology to help with your driving.

The car is fitted with a number of safety and comfort features to make it safer and easier to drive.

These include dual controls for the instructor, a six speed manual gearbox, an electronic handbrake, ABS braking system with hill hold assist, air conditioning, electric windows, height adjustable seats, daylight running lights, rear parking sensors, additional parking mirrors, satellite navigation, multiple airbags, automatic lights, automatic wipers, ambient lighting, front and rear dashcams, cruise control and a speed limiter.
